What is Howli?

How does guided harmony recording work?
Listen to one part, sing with pitch and lyric cues, save your best take, and repeat until your harmony video is complete.
How is Howli different from Acapella or BandLab?
Acapella and BandLab give you tools to record and layer your voice. Howli also shows you what to sing: hear each harmony part, follow pitch and lyric cues, and turn your best takes into one harmony video.
Does Howli adapt songs to my vocal range?
Yes. Find your comfortable low and high notes once, and Howli uses your saved range to choose a starting key for songs with pitch guides. You can still adjust the key yourself.
Can I create and share my own harmony arrangements?
Yes. Write notes and lyrics for vocal parts in Howli or its free browser editor. Share the arrangement as a Howli song code so another singer can import it and record their own version. A song code contains the arrangement, not your audio or video recordings.
How to use a song codeWhere are recordings stored?
Recordings are processed and stored on your device. You stay in control of recordings and finished videos.
Is Howli free, including saving and sharing?
Free practice includes a daily recording allowance. Your retained performances stay free to review, save and share, even if you reach the allowance or Howli Unlimited ends. Unlimited removes the daily recording limit. Songs written from scratch in Howli have unlimited free practice on the creator’s iPhone.

Yes. Import a MIDI or MusicXML file into Howli’s free browser editor, check the vocal parts, then copy the resulting song code into the iPhone app to practise and record. Sheet music must be in MusicXML format; PDF scores and photos are not supported.
